Portable rail profilometer

Producer:

Portable rail profilometer (PRP) is designed for non-contact registration of the transverse profile of the working surface of the rail head.
The profilometer uses a non-contact method for recording the profile with a laser sensor and a scanning device.
The PDP performs the following main functions:

  • obtaining information on the parameters of the transverse profile of the working surface of the rail head;
  • reading and analysis of the full profile of the working surface of the rail head;
  • visualization of combined graphic images of the actual and new transverse rail head profiles.

How it works
Operator installs the laser scanning module on the head of the measured rail. On command from the PTC (pocket tablet computer) or PC, the laser module, analogue of the RF603 triangulation sensor , performs non-contact scanning of the rail surface. Measurement results (geometric parameters and surface profile) are displayed on the PTC display, can be stored in PTC`s memory and transferred to the PC database. At the same time, additional parameters are stored: measurement date, operator code, track distance, track number, rail type, etc.
